
Jim Burns
Partner, Head of Institutional Client Solutions, Americas Global Client Solutions New YorkJim Burns (New York) joined KKR in 2010 and is a Partner in Global Client Solutions where he leads KKR’s institutional client business in the Americas. He established, and led for eleven years, KKR’s Individual Investor Business, which is responsible for capital formation from family offices and wealth platforms globally. From 2018-2023, he led KKR's client business in EMEA, where he was a member of the Executive Committee for KKR Capital Markets LLC, served as a Director on the Board of KKR Alternative Investment Management and was a member of the Firm's Operating Committee in EMEA. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Burns was a managing director in the private wealth management division of Morgan Stanley, where he worked for nearly thirteen years and held a variety of positions, including head of the Eastern United States for private wealth management. Mr. Burns holds a B.A., Phi Beta Kappa, from Emory University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Mr. Burns is a member of the board of trustees for Emory University and serves both on the Executive Committee and as Chair of the Investment Committee for the University's endowment. He is a former member of the board of trustees for The McCallie School in Chattanooga, TN, where he served both on the Executive Committee and as Chair of the Investment Committee for the School’s endowment. He is a former trustee for the Convent of the Sacred Heart in New York.
